POLYFACES

Food for Thought, presented by Mahaffey Farms
Tickets: $30, includes dinner featuring food from Mahaffey Farms,
movie and discussion ($28, RFC and Slow Food members)
Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with dinner starting at 6 p.m.

Polyfaces is a film about connecting to the land and the community.
Set amidst the stunning Shenandoah Valley in northern Virginia,
Polyface Farm uses no chemicals and feeds over 6,000 families and many
restaurants and food outlets within a three-hour ‘foodshed’ of their
farm. Using the symbiotic relationships of animals and their natural
functions, they produce high quality, nutrient-dense products.

Mahaffey Farms is doing the same kind of farming right here in
northwest Louisiana. Mahaffey’s Evan McCommon will join us and Slow
Food North Louisiana for a post-screening dialogue about the
farm-to-table movement in Shreveport-Bossier. Documentary, 90 min.
